A time bank is a way for community members to exchange time and support
with one another, where an hour of one person’s contribution is valued the
same as an hour of anyone else’s — coordinated by the community itself
rather than by money changing hands.
The WSI/CES Time Bank program exists to coordinate time contribution,
reciprocity, and community support exchange among members. It is one part
of a broader family of Community Bank programs — alongside Food Bank,
Care/Health Bank, and Energy Bank — each built to address a different
kind of community need through shared, governed coordination.
The Time Bank program is currently in active, governed development. Before
any request-matching, exchange, or public service goes live, the program
requires a defined intake and consent process, a human review step for every
request, and an approved evidence and safeguards framework. This page will
be updated as those foundations are put in place.
